I recently signed up to be a publisher of Odesk’s affiliate program and prior to publishing ads I wanted to dig in and see if their services really offered any true value to my readers – this is my final conclusion on the oDesk services.
About oDesk:
“oDesk is the marketplace for online workteams, with the best business model for both buyers and providers. Our unique approach guarantees to buyers that an hour billed is an hour worked, while guaranteeing to providers that an hour worked is an hour paid.
This win-win approach attracts more work to oDesk than to any other online work marketplace. Each month, thousands of companies of all sizes post jobs on oDesk, representing more than $65,000,000. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of top-notch professionals, including web developers, software programmers, graphic designers, writers, customer service representatives and virtual assistants, offer their services through oDesk.
With an average job size of $5,000, oDesk is the best place to find meaningful work and top-flight talent. More than doubling in size each year since 2004, oDesk is where companies are building their entire organizations online and is the primary source of income for thousands of providers. oDesk is truly changing how the world works.”
I recently signed up with oDesk as a “SEO CONSULTANT” so I could test some features out and give an accurate review of their services and offerings and the results were pretty funny!
I had my friend Mark who knows just basic SEO Terminology and has no understanding of web based technologies take the oDesk SEO test on my behalf to see what kind of ‘Quality’ oDesk is producing – here were his results.
Alright – so Mark who has ZERO understanding of SEO with the exception of basic terminology passed the test with flying colors… which means according to oDesk he is qualified for many of the SEO Jobs – at least that’s my understanding.
This is just one of many examples of the flaws engineered into their system. Finding a true trade expert goes well beyond someone who passed a very basic skewed SEO test. It involves research and time.
If your considering on hiring a SEO Expert its better worth your time, money and effort to search for them on the web.
After all – they are SEO Experts and if you can’t find them how do you expect to be found? $8/hr. won’t get you there – I promise.
