One small step for Microsoft means one giant leap for those looking to create and manage their own websites. It’s been a long time coming, but Microsoft has finally released an effective tool for do-it-themselves types: the long-anticipated Webmatrix Web development software.
The finalized version debuted in January, after several rounds of testing/beta releases, and the early buzz has been quite positive. For those already using Microsoft’s Visual Studio or SQL Server, MS Webmatrix is compatible with these products, making it even more user-friendly and appealing to the average business owner – the user who performs his own California Web design services.
According to Brian Goldfarb, director of developer platform marketing at Microsoft, even first-time users can handle MS Webmatrix with ease. “The majority of the users are going to be new to this. That’s one of the explicit goals here,” he said. “We’re trying to make Web development, and the Microsoft technology stack more approachable by a wider audience than we have in the past.”
Yes, Microsoft still offers the same high-end Web development and publishing tools as in the past. But according to Goldfarb, “The beauty of what we’ve done with Webmatrix is, when–and if–you’re ready, all of the great features and technology inside of Visual Studio will work to customize the same site you were working on before. You just point at it and keep going.”
Of course, not everyone is a DIY designer…so for more info on Los Angeles, California Web designservices, keep Crest Media in mind. But if you have had experience with , we’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
