Some businesses need zero guidance when it comes to the world of social media marketing, and then there are some businesses who just can’t seem to gain even the smallest amount of social media traction. This article is for those businesses that can’t seem to get the social media world to work in their favor. Being able to rise from the dead in a social media sense is an excellent accomplishment.
Take A Step Back
The very first thing that needs to be done in order to rise and succeed in the social media world is to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. You can easily do this by finding the answers to the following questions.
- What social media platforms have you tried?
- What type of content or posts have worked in the past?
- What type of content or posts DID NOT work in the past?
Finding the answer to that last question is crucial because no one wants to repeat their mistakes. By not doing the same things that did not work over and over, you save valuable time to do the things that did work in the past.
Do Some Social Media Cleaning
There are quite literally dozens of social media platforms out there but not all of them are worth pursuing. In fact, you may only need to be participating in a couple of them. This is one all too common mistake many businesses constantly make. They try to work every single social media platform in existence. This can wind up to be nothing more than a huge waste of time. Stick the using the big six.
- Google+
These are the six heavy hitters in the social media world. Focus on these first to see what type of traction you can get.

How’s Your Website Performing?
Part of resurrecting your social media accounts relies on the content you create for your website. How often are you adding new content that your social media followers are likely to share? Many businesses simply don’t create enough content to pick up any sort of social media traction. Try posting fresh, new content to your blog at least twice a week. If you can do more, then do it.
Wash, Rinse and Repeat
Once you start finding out what works best for your business, it is time to start the repeating process. Take your ideas that have gained traction and repeat them with similar content. It doesn’t take long to determine exactly what your audience likes the most and revive your dead social media marketing!
