Not long ago, the Internet was overwhelmed with news about Google Penguin. It took more time, and now we can share “recipes” and more effective methods to restore your website from Google Penguin influence.
Here is the list of the most proven methods:
1. 301 redirect
2. Removal of links and submission for reconsideration
3. Anchor list diluting
4. Text changing
5. Distribution of queries on the site
And now look through each of the points in detail:
1. 301 redirect or glue domain
Experience and practice has shown that it works best. Only here there is a nuance, redirect has to be correct and not just put redirect and wait in the hope of getting some results.
Some statistics:
301-e redirects were put on 12 sites: 4 of them to promote in the USA and the rest in Ukraine.
Average time of gluing: 1-3 weeks
Of the 12 sites 11 are successfully promoted
To 9 sites more than a month passed after all the queries are backed and while still in the top.
Conclusions:
301 redirect passes references, and doesn’t pass the filter but not in all cases. Before that, there were cases when they put redirect after the first upgrade took it back in – 100 and more.
301 redirect works with the Goolge Penguin filter but not 100%.
And now the best way to put 301 redirect:
1. Register domain name
For example, if your site was yoursite.com, register yoursite.net or some other but with the same name in another domain zone.
2. Make a complete copy of the site that is under the filter on a new domain
3. Canonical tag on all pages of the old site on the same pages of the new site
4. robots.txt file: -
- Put new domain in the host address
- Just rewrite the sitemap line on a new domain
5. Stop to place links on the old domain and don’t start to place on the new one
6. Adding a new domain in Google Webmaster Tools
7. Add Google Analytics code to the site with a new domain
8. In the htaccess file make 301 redirects on all pages of the old domain to all pages of the new domain
9. Indicate in Google Webmaster Tools that the site has a new domain
10. Waiting for changes and track dynamics of positions
11. In parallel, put on the site social buttons - Google Plus, Twitter, Facebook, “tweets” and “likes” on a new domain
2. Removal of links and submission to reconsider
What to do?
1) Login to Google Webmaster Tools and click to the link https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/reconsideration?hl=com
2) Before you write a letter for reconsideration it must be removed at least 50% of links and wait for about a week or two. If your site has taken off in – 100 or – 200, don’t care.
3) In a review letter to write that you have removed links and also check the site for compliance with the rules of Google and ask to reconsider.
Next in about 3-14 days will receive a letter that your site is reconsidered. But it doesn’t mean that your site is let go.
Once again wait for about 2-3 weeks. If everything is OK, then the former positions will gradually returned.
IMPORTANT: Don’t place link to the site as soon as the site is getting better, do it gradually, smooth growth.
If you are promoted only by eternal links
Or links with a single pay, then all is not well. Because you can do just a little to affect your site. Even if in exchange you write you want to remove them – it takes a long time and is not financially profitable, as they spent a lot of money.
Well if it is 500 – 1000 dollars. And if 5-8 thousand dollars, then there is a different matter. If you don’t mind your domain it’s best to do “redirect”, the result will be much faster.
3. Anchor list diluting
According to Gillian Muessig diluted links should be about 45-50% of the total mass of the reference to the site.
Small observation
Google Penguin algorithm automatically responds to link to the site and make changes without request for reconsideration. But experience has shown that far it's not working at all sites.
4. Text changing
It is considered that Google Panda – is content on the site, and Google Penguin –links, but who said that they can’t work together?
In fact Google Penguin is more updated algorithm, which contains a lot of different filters.
It’s worth check out at least:
1. Texts uniqueness
2. Duplicate pages on the site
3. Duplicate domain (it should be http://yoursite.com, or www.yoursite.com)
4. Text density
Uniqueness and quality of texts have a large role on the site, as well as if text is highly over optimized with keywords, this may adversely affect the site.
5. Distribution of queries on the site
• Spread the words on the necessary sections
• Register the meta tags (Title, description, keywords and alt)
• Write unique and normal texts of 1000 characters for each section
• Sent a link to the proper sections
This option is very rare, but still occurs.
