The Difference Between an Happy SEO Client, and a disgruntled SEO Client.
I don’t care with your current SEO provider tells you, don’t expect to see significant quantifiable increases in sales leads in less than 6 months – period.
If you’ve listened to me on the radio I don’t think I can preach this enough. If you’re a small business owner who is expecting returns in less than 6 months – you’ve set yourself up for failure and you’re completely missing the benefits of SEO – here’s a quick story.
First, as you know – we work with a very limited number of businesses per industry. This helps us to avoid competing with ourselves and giving all of the attention to our clients.
Last year, I was solicited and hired by a Denver Roofing company, one who had particular interest in how I’ve and my team has been able to keep dominant and prominent rankings for Roof Corp of Metro Denver (roofcorpinc.com). To make a long story short they signed up and about 4 months into the campaign they quit because they didn’t see a massive increase in traffic or sales (even through they made it to the first page in Google for Denver Roofing, Roofing Denver etc…)
THERE’S A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LANDING ON THE 1st PAGE OF GOOGLE AND THE TOP 3 POSITIONS:
This particular roofing company left for another SEO agency who quickly found a way to land the once 1st page rankings on page 3 – oh-well, it happens all the time. We quickly filled their spot with another roofing company (Academy Roofing, Inc) who when they signed up they had literally no visibility and now, there’s a not a roofing related keyword you can Google and you won’t find them.
Just how good are we? Very good. In fact, if you Google “Roofing Denver,” or “Denver Roofing” we (our clients) own the entire 1st half of the page.
IF YOU PULL OUT OF SEO BEFORE 6 MONTHS… YOU’VE GIVEN UP ON YOUR BUSINESS and HAVE COMPLETELY WASTED YOUR MONEY.
One of the reasons why SEO companies REQUIRE a minimum of 6 months investment is because we know that business owners get antsy and we’re PROTECTION you from making a bad decision. If you sign up with an SEO campaign - SEE IT THROUGH.
Complaining (after expectations have been set) will only leave you pissed and upset when in reality the only one who has failed you – IS YOURSELF.
SEO is awesome.
Small business owners, if there’s one thing you take from SEO it’s this: SEO takes time and you must be willing to see the ENTIRE campaign through. Give your SEOs a break – there’s a reason why SEO is one of the biggest industries out there and again, if you don’t see it through – you’ve only wasted your own time and money.
SEO is truely an amazing marketing tactic but you must invest in its longevity.
