Shakes, Rattle & Roll – Google Caffeine Search is ready to go!
Google Caffeine which was first revealed as a “secret project” in early August as a initiative to speed up search results as well as improve search result accuracy.
Back in the ‘way when’ Google’s Webmaster Central blog characterized Caffeine as “the first step in a process that will let us push the envelope on size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness and other dimensions.”
The Caffeine test web page was set up as a preview site asking for people to try out the features and provide feedback. I tried to access the Google Caffeine test website several days ago and found this lovely note left by Google.
Based on the success we’ve seen, we believe Caffeine is ready for a larger audience. Soon we will activate Caffeine more widely, beginning with one data center. This sandbox is no longer necessary and has been retired, but we appreciate the testing and positive input that webmasters and publishers have given.
Google Caffeine will not change the appearance of Google’s red hot search engine but will be the underlying components to drive its performance, reportedly driving faster, better and more flexible results.
